Award-winning actress Patricia Arquette was born on April 8, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. She came from a family of actors; her father is Lewis Arquette, and her siblings are David, Richmond and Rosanna. She started in show business when she was eighteen, and got her start in the entertainment industry through the 1986 film Pretty Smart. Her notable film credits include True Romance in 1993, Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead, and Human Nature. She was also in acclaimed movies like Tim Burton’s Ed Wood with Johnny Depp and 1995’s Beyond Rangoon. She was also in the film adaptation of Edith Wharton’s novel Ethan Frome, the comedy Flirting with Disaster and the Rupert Wainwright-directed horror Stigmata. During the 2000s, Patricia Arquette was cast in Little Nicky with Adam Sandler. She had a role in Disney’s Holes and the romantic comedy Tiptoes with Gary Oldman and Kate Beckinsale.
In January 2005, Patricia Arquette scored a role in her first television series, Medium, on NBC. Her portrayal of the psychic Allison DuBois, a strong and assertive mother, wife and law student, made Arquette a household name. She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2005 for her performance, and was subsequently nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and twice for a Golden Globe. The ratings of the show continued to increase, bringing more and more success to Patricia Arquette. Her other television work includes playing Mary Jo in HBO’s Tales from the Crypt and 1990’s The Outsiders. While filming Medium, she was given a role in the Richard Linklater drama Fast Food Nation.
Patricia Arquette used to be married her Bringing Out the Dead co-star Nicolas Cage, wedding him in April 1995. They were soon divorced, and Arquette became engaged to actor Thomas Jane in 2002. They married in 2006 in Venice, Italy.
