This darkly comedic drama tells the story of three generations of a family grappling with life, death, and the complexities of human relationships.
With outstanding performances by a talented cast, the show navigates its themes with a delicate balance of humor and emotional depth.
The exploration of assisted suicide and end-of-life choices is a poignant and timely subject that the series handles with care and authenticity.
2. “The Empress” (2022)
If you’re a fan of historical dramas with a touch of intrigue, “The Empress” is a must-watch. This series takes us back to ancient China and follows the life of Empress Wu Zetian.
She rose from a lowly concubine to become the only female emperor in Chinese history—the lavish production design and gripping storytelling immerse viewers in the splendor and politics of the Tang Dynasty.
I’m drawn to shows that shed light on lesser-known historical figures, and “The Empress” does just that.

In a television landscape often dominated by severe themes, “Astrid & Lily Save the World” brings lightheartedness.

8. “The Crowded Room” (2023)
Now this series threw me for a loop! Brilliantly written by Akiva Goldsman, the riveting short series is based on a true story.
The story is that of the first person with dissociative identity disorder, Danny Sullivan (Tom Holland).
The series is set in the 1970/80’s and follows Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried), an interrogator looking for answers after a brutal shooting in New York City.

Who doesn’t love a good mystery? Better yet, who doesn’t love getting unexpected answers? Because I sure do.
As an advent detective and murder mystery lover, I can undoubtedly say that this 6 part series satisfied my admiration for the niche.
An old time capsule buried in the 1990s sparks opened in the present day, 2019, sparks the exciting journey for a detective thirsty for answers.
