William Sanderson was born on January 10, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee. As an actor, he appeared on television shows like The X-Files, Knight Rider, Married...with Children, Babylon 5, and Coach. He also graced the movie industry with films like Man's Best Friend, Nightmares, The Onion Field, Fight For Your Life and Painted Forrest to name a few. In addition, he was popularly known for his portrayal of Larry in the series Newhart. Ultimately, he became part of the television series Deadwood as E.B. Farnum, the owner of The Grand Central Hotel and the self appointed mayor of the town.
After the conclusion of Deadwood, Sanderson moved on to appear on Lost, Trauma and True Blood, where he currently plays Sheriff Bud Dearborne. He can also be seen on TV You Control: Bar Karma as the character James.
