American actor Vincent Kartheiser was born on May 5, 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He started his career appearing in numerous films, earning award nominations along the way. His first film role was in 1993, when he played a bit role in the romantic comedy Untamed Heart, which starred Christian Slater and Marisa Tomei. His initial film credits revolved around family fare, notably the 1996 action-adventure Alaska, which earned him a Young Artist Award nomination, and the 1997 comedy-action film Masterminds, where he starred alongside Patrick Stewart.
Kartheiser then started appearing in independent films. In 1997, he starred in the Larry Clark-directed film Another Day in Paradise. In 1998, he starred in the film Strike! (which was later renamed as All I Wanna Do), where he appeared alongside Kirsten Dunst and Gaby Hoffmann. In 2000, he was part of the cast of Crime and Punishment is Suburbia, also starring Monica Keena, which was screened at that year’s Sundance Film Festival. It was eventually nominated for the festival’s Grand Jury Prize. He appeared in another Sundance participant, the coming-of-age drama Dandelion, which was premiered in 2004. His other films include Ricky 6, Luckytown, The Unsaid, Waning Moon and Preston Tylk.
Kartheiser also had several notable regular roles on television. In 2002, he joined the cast of the hit series Angel, where he played Connor, the son of Angel (David Boreanaz) and Darla (Julie Benz). He was kidnapped as a child because of a prophecy that apparently had Connor kill his father; however, he later returns to the normal world as a vicious demon hunter manipulated into killing Angel. He doesn’t succeed, and eventually accepts his father and joins his group. In 2007, he joined the cast of the critically-acclaimed series Mad Men, where he plays the young and ambitious advertising account manager Peter Campbell.
