Biography

Born on November 29, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, actor Tom Sizemore became known for his portrayal of tough guy characters throughout his career. He was educated at Wayne State University and he later pursued a master's degree in theater from Temple University. Before he got a steady acting job, he waited tables and appeared in local plays. However, he got his break when he was cast in a small role in Born on the Fourth of July.

Tom Sizemore then gained fame for his role in the biopic Wyatt Earp in 1994. This year also brought him the part in Oliver Stone's film Natural Born Killers, which led him to more film appearances like those in Heat, Strange Days and The Relic. His success was stunted because of his substance abuse, causing his mother and friend Robert De Niro to take action. They helped him get into a rehab facility and when he completed it, he counseled teens dealing with the same problem he had. Soon, Sizemore was back in business and obtained bigger roles. He was in Saving Private Ryan, Enemy of the State, Pearl Harbor and Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down. He also appeared in the third season of the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, where he was reunited with former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss. They both received their passes to the show's spinoff, Sober House. Aside from acting. Sizemore is also known for his music career. He fronted the rock band Day 8 with Rod Castro, Alan Muffterson, Tyrone Tomke and Michael Taylor.
