Stand-up comedian
Theo von Alten was born March 19, 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana with the birth name Theodor Capitani Vonkurnatowski . He attended several universities such as Louisiana State University, Loyola University, University of Arizona, College of Charleston, Santa Monica College and University of New Orleans. Initially, Theo only performed stand-up comedy to a small group of stuffed toys. He was living in a back bedroom of a duplex located in New Orleans then. He eventually moved to Los Angeles where he continued performing, this time to a group of people in bars.
He entered the limelight when he joined several challenges of MTV's
Road Rules series. He was also seen on Late Night Show with Craig Ferguson, Battle of the Network Reality Stars and Reality TV Secrets: How to Get on the Show! In 2006, he joined the fourth season of
Last Comic Standing and won the Last Comic Downloaded title.
Theo von Alten's hobbies and interests include beekeeping, creating crafts and mixing beats. He enjoys reading books by bestselling American novelist and Academy Award-winning screenwriter John Irving. His favorite movies are Newsies, League of their Own, Gattaca and Casablanca. Theo likes the music of Counting Crows, Black Crowes and Josh Kelley. Aside from reality TV programs, he takes pleasure in watching shows about cold case files.
He currently resides in Santa Monica, California and performs stand-up comedy nightly.
Theo von Alten is a prom committee member on ABC Family's reality show
America's Prom Queen , where 10 high school girls live together in a mansion and compete against each other in a series of challenges that will test their “prom queen mettle.” The contestants face weekly elimination rounds and attend a featured prom at the end of the show. According to Theo, he was with the high school prom queen when he got into a car accident. He was also prom king runner-up.
