Asian American actress Smith Cho made her screen debut in 2003, when she played a patient in the ninth season of ER. She made her first film appearance later than year, when she played an uncredited bit role in Bad Boys II. She also had guest roles in television shows such as Six Feet Under, Gilmore Girls, Boston Public, Becker, Karen Sisco, Crossing Jordan, House and Just for Kicks.
Cho had a starring role in the ABC comedy Emily’s Reasons Why Not. Based on the novel of the same name, it also starred Heather Graham, Nadia Dajani and Khary Payton. Despite heavy promotion and significant investment, the network cancelled the program after only one episode—making it one of the few primetime programs to get cancelled after one airing—because of lackluster ratings and a perception that the show would not have a chance to improve. Critics called it a less risqu? copy of Sex and the City.
Cho, nevertheless, continued her acting career, appearing in the films Blades of Glory, Ping Pong Playa, Meet Dave and Say Goodnight, and in guest stints in Rules of Engagement and Entourage.
