Actress Sienna Miller was born on December 28, 1981 in New York City. She moved to London when she was a year old; she would grow up there until she moved back to New York to train as an actress as the Lee Strasberg Institute. Before pursuing an acting career, however, she worked as a model, becoming the image model for Hugo Boss fragrances and Pepe Jeans, and appearing in the prestigious Pirelli Calendar.

Her initial acting credits were with several amateur plays in New York, eventually making her film debut in 2001’s South Kensington. Most of her early roles were supporting stints in films such as Alfie (with Jude Law), Layer Cake (with Daniel Craig) and Casanova (with Heath Ledger) before breaking out as socialite Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl. She had a minor role in the 2007 fantasy flick Stardust, and appeared in several independent and British productions before joining 2009’s GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Miller is also known, if not controversial, for her personal life. Initially engaged to Jude Law, and later seen dating actor Rhys Ifans, she was linked to Balthazar Getty, who was married at the time. He has since filed for divorce.
