Born on March 22, 1980 in Bend, Oregon,
Shannon Bex is the oldest and the only married member of the Danity Kane group. Often referred to as the “mother of the group”, Shannon shares that much of her confidence is taken from the loving bond she shares with her husband, who is also a dancer himself. This Scottish girl has been singing and dancing for as long as she can remember. She started studying dancing at the tender age of six. She attended Mountain View High School and was a former cheerleader for the Portland Trail Blazers when she was 19. Throughout her schooling years, she constantly participated in drama activities, dance competitions and choir singing. In 2003, she appeared on the series Fame and ended up as a runner-up to Harlem Lee. Shannon, together with Danity Kane members Aubrey and Aundrea, also did the catwalk for the Dizon Playboy Fashion Show.
Shannon is one of the five females who belonged to the final group in MTV's reality show,
Making the Band 3. The five consists of Aubrey, Aundrea, D.Woods, Dawn and herself. After gaining their spots, they named themselves Danity Kane group. Shannon is nicknamed "ballerina toes" because she sleeps with her feet pointing up and often walks on tip-toes.
In 2009, the members of Danity Kane went their separate ways and Shannon joined www.imfrenzy.com, a new social networking website just for teenage girls. Shannon is the official spokesperson and contributes a weekly blog on the site called “Shannon Says”. IMFRENZY.com is a unique site that offers girls a place to share their creativity, learn more about things that are important to them, and make new friends along the way. Through Shannon’s involvement with IMFRENZY.com, she is able to fuel her passion for uniting and empowering young girls.
