Father and son Ron and Mike are one of eleven pairs competing in the second batch of The Biggest Loser: Couples.
Ronald Morelli, 54, is a retired food distributor from South Lyon, MI. Having just retired from the industry he’s part of for most of his career, he is now spending his time as an active member of the community, being a sitting member of the city council, as well as a member of his town’s planning commission. His weight has become a lifelong struggle for him—he was at 200 pounds when he was just nine years old, and ballooned to as much as 500 pounds. He tried everything and lost weight, only to gain it back, and is in the show after realizing that obesity is a path his sons shouldn’t take.
Michael Morelli, 18, is a student living with his father. Like his father, he has struggled with his weight since childhood, and doesn’t want to follow the footsteps of his father. He’s tried many diets, but none have successfully kept his weight under control. However, he is active at sports, both as a participant and as an observer. Currently getting ready to enter college with hopes of becoming a surgeon, he is very much aware that excessive weight will be one of his major obstacles in achieving that goal.
Ron and Mike form the Brown Team, training under Bob Harper. Extremely driven and competitive, yet outgoing and fun-loving, they can push each other to the limit, if only to see each other flourish and develop. Both have their aims, and both see The Biggest Loser: Couples as the best chance for them to give themselves a new start and achieve their ambitions in life.
