Biography

Robert Glenister is known to be the son of director John Glenister and brother to actor Philip Glenister. The actor was born on March 11, 1960 and made his first television appearance on the sitcom Sink or Swim in 1980. In 1984, he appeared on several episodes of the hit series of Doctor Who. He was cast as Salateen on the four-part serial “The Caves of Androzani” with his Sink or Swim co-star, Peter Davison.

Glenister continued his television work, appearing in The Lonelyheart Kid, Me and the Girls, and the miniseries Cover Her Face. He later got guest roles on Juliet Bravo and The Bill and in 1990 was cast on several episodes of Chancer Other appearances of his include Soldier Solider as Colour Sgt. Ian Anderson, Boon as Mr. Richards, and Only Fools and Horses as Myles. In 1993, he got the role of Jeremy in The Secret Rapture before getting cast in Casualty, Pie in the Sky, A Landing on the Sun and Kavanagh QC. He later landed the title role of Aristophanes in the TV production of Aristophanes: The Gods are Laughing.

In 2000, Glenister landed a part in You Can’t Dance, as well as All Forgotten. He also had TV roles, such as those in Dirty Work and My Fragile Heart. In 2001, he became known for playing Earl of Warwick in the comedy film Just Visiting. He later found himself working on Midsomer Murders, Laissez-passer, Heartbeat, and several other TV movies. He was in Murder, Sirens, Hitler: The Rise of Evil, and shows like Roger Roger and A Touch of Frost. Later on, he gained more fame for playing the character Ashley Morgan in the BBC series Hustle, and as Dave Searle in the series Jane Hall. After a role in Get Off My Land, Glenister joined the cast of the series Spooks.
