Biography

American actor and voice actor Raphael Sbarge was born on February 12, 1964 in New York City. He was raised in a theatre-oriented family, leading him to start an acting career at the age of five. He appeared on Sesame Street and later made his stage debut in the 1981 Shakespeare in the Park production of Henry IV, Part 1. He then made his Broadway debut in the play The Curse of an Aching Heart. He continued to work in theatre, and soon found himself on film and television. He was seen on films like Independence Day, Message in a Bottle, and Pearl Harbor in 2001. On the small screen he was seen on Star Trek: Voyager and later landed a regular role on The Guardian. He also had roles on Dexter, Journeyman, and the soap opera The Young and the Restless. He soon voiced the character Professor Zei in the Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. In 2011, he was cast as Archie on the ABC fantasy-drama Once Upon a Time.
