Pretty Ricky, also known as the Bluestars, is an American hip-hop group made up of brothers Baby Blue, Spectacular, and Slick'Em, as well as former member of the group, Pleasure P, and his current replacement, 4Play. Pretty Ricky have released several hit singles, such as "Grind With Me", "Your Body", "Juicy", "Nothing But A Number", "On The Hotline", "Push It Baby", and "Love Like Honey.”
The group released their album Bluestars in 2005 with Atlantic Records. The album peaked at #16 on the U.S. charts, and went gold. Pretty Ricky released their first massively successful album, Late Night Special, in early 2007. The album went to number one on the U.S. Billboard charts, The first single released from this album was "On The Hotline.” The group has also developed their own clothing line, Pretty Clothing Line. The brothers feature items from their line in their first three music videos for "On The Hotline", "Push It Baby" and "Love Like Honey".
Pretty Ricky has been nominated as “Best Group” at the BET 2004 Hip-Hop Awards in 2004. At the same BET Awards in 2007, the group announced that member Pleasure P was no longer with Pretty Ricky, and pursuing opportunities as a solo artist.
Pretty Ricky has latched on to the massive trend among big name and underground artists alike of using the internet for self-promotion and distribution. The group often sponsors special features and contests for their fan, including a music video dance contest on YouTube. Pretty Ricky also has a high-ranking YouTube channel dedicated to their musicthat features their music. This type of advertising combined with the passion of their fans spreading their name through word of mouth, has helped the group achieve their success.
