Born on September 22, 1948, Philip H. Hurley was educated at Austin College in Sherman, Texas and at the University of Texas, where he earned a degree in Marketing. He is currently the President and General Manager of Max Media of Texas and KYTX/Channel 19 for Tyler/ Longview/ Nacogdoches. In 2004, he built the station and organized the company. Before his career with Max Media of Texas, however, he served as the Vice President and General Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting's NBC affiliate for Beaumont/Port Arthur. For a year starting in 2001, he served as the President of Max Media of Montana, a group of four ABC stations and one NBC station in Montana. He was also the Vice President and General Manager of Communications Corporation of America stations across the American states. Before venturing into the media industry, Hurley worked for the telecommunications industry and banking industry.
Philip H. Hurley appears on the FOX hybrid of comedy and reality series, Anchorwoman. In desperate attempts to raise the viewing statistics of KYTX's nightly news, Hurley hired swimsuit model Lauren Jones to be their anchorwoman. The whole newsroom turned upside down as the bombshell does the unexpected, eventually proving to everyone else that she is more than just a blonde model.
