Actress Nina Sosanya was born in London and trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. As she harnessed her talents there, she gained A-Levels in Performing Arts. She has since appeared as Desdemona in Othello, Olivia in Twelfth Night and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and played in Henry V before going on to the National Theater where she performed in Anthony & Cleopatra and House and Garden. Her next performance was in The Marriage of Figaro, shown at the Royal Exchange.
Other than her theater work, Nina Sosanya was seen for her many works on film and television. She debuted on television in the production of Prime Suspect 2 in 1992, and was cast as Chilla in Hercules and the Amazon Women released two years later. What followed was a sequence of series guest appearances, some of them in Doctors, Jonathan Creek, Urban Gothic and two episodes of People Like Us. She also had a role in the miniseries The Jury, and has been seen on Teachers as Jenny Paige during the early 2000s. Her next role was in Serious and Organised, before she was cast in two movies in 2003. Sosanya was in the sci-fi thriller Code 46, starring Tim Robbins and directed by Michael Winterbottom. She also joined the ensemble of the romantic comedy Love Actually, written and directed by Richard Curtis. She was later cast in the TV production Casanova, and later landed a role in the series Nathan Barley as Sasha. She then guest-starred in No Angels, and was given roles in films like Manderlay and the horror Lie Still. Sosanya was also credited for her voice work on 2006’s sci-fi thriller Renaissance, and was given a small role in an episode of Doctor Who. In 2007, she joined the cast of the series Meadowlands as the character Samantha, after acting on several episodes of Sorted. Sosanya’s next appearance was in Sold, as well as being a guest on the series Bonekickers.
