Born in Iowa City, Iowa on September 16, 1978, American actor Michael Mosley has had experience in theater before he decided on a television career. He was part of the 47 Seconds Drama Troupe, which not only developed his skills but also advocated the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence. He attended Cedar Falls High School growing up, taking up acting classes to perfect his craft.
But before he embarked on his career in the acting industry, he also forayed into music. Michael Mosley was the former guitarist of a band known as Hostage Boy, which managed to release one demo so far. He eventually pursued television gigs afterwards, earning him even more popularity since then.
Mosley began his career in 2001, when he starred in episodes of the series The Education of Max Bickford. This was followed by smaller roles, including those in Law and Order: SVU, Third Watch and Hack. He then appeared on a number of films, but none of them gained much recognition. One of his more known projects is the series Kidnapped, where he played the FBI Agent Atkins.
Soon he started being seen on movies like 27 Dresses and The Accidental Husband, before he was cast on one episode of The Wire. He then became known for playing Gunnery Sgt. Robert Swarr in Generation Kill, as well as for his role as Sheriff Hardy on The Mentalist.
After his appearance in the movie The Proposal, Michael Mosley booked a more rewarding role in the series Kings. He was cast as the character Eli Shepherd. Next came a spot on Three Rivers in 2009, before he bagged a regular role on the revised series called Scrubs [Med School]. On the Bill Lawrence-created comedy, he portrays the character Drew, a med student giving med school yet another try. When the series ended, he landed roles on Castle, Law & Order: Los Angeles, and The Closer. In 2011, he landed regular roles on Happy Endings and Pan Am.
