Born on September 13, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, Michael Johnson is a retired American sprinter known for winning four gold medals in the Olympics. He has also been crowned world champion eight times, holding several more world records in addition to being universally recognized as the greatest long sprinter in the sport's history. The youngest of five children, he was educated at Skyline High School and Baylor University. He already achieved success in track and field at the time, and he later graduated with a bachelor's degree in business.
Since his retirement, Michael Johnson started to write a column for the Daily Telegraph. He has also made several television appearances, usually for the BBC. He opened the Michael Johnson Performance Center in McKinney, Texas and trained several athletes in the field. In 2010, he was included among the contestants of NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice. He decided to exit the show on his own terms, due to personal reasons.
