Actress and writer Mary Elizabeth Ellis was born on May 11, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi. She is known to have taught gymnastics for ten years, before getting into the entertainment industry. She appeared on several television shows since her first appearance on an episode of Reno 911! in 2004.
The next year, Mary Elizabeth Ellis booked the recurring role of The Waitress on FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She is actually married to Charlie Day, a star of the show who also writes and produces episodes for it. She worked with another co-star, Artemis Pebdani, on a stage show. The two of them appeared on "Mother May I Dance With Mary Jane's Fist? A Lifetime Original Play" at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles.
