Malcolm Barrett

 

Biography

Born in 1980 in Brooklyn, New York, Malcolm Barrett is an actor best known for his guest roles on several popular television series, including The Sopranos, Law and order, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Monk, and as a series regular on Fox’s The Sketch Show. In 2009, he was cast as Lem in the ABC comedy Better Off Ted. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, and later, at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He appeared in the national tour of Wit with Judith Light, while continuing his schooling at NYU. Other than acting, Barrett also dabbles in poetry, improvisation, and stand-up comedy. He was a member of the 2001 Nuyorican Slam Poetry team and actually won the Yough Playwright competition at Manhattan Class Company. He broke into the acting scene with The Beat. This was followed by a string of television series, including The Sopranos, Law and Order, Luis, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Psych, Ghost Whisperer, Monk, and much later in 2009, he was cast for the role of Lem in the ABC comedy Better Off Ted. He also appeared in several television advertisement campaigns, such as the national spots of Hummer and AT&T.
