Actress Viola Lynn Collins was born on June 1, 1979. A native of Texas, she attended Juilliard in New York and first established herself in productions of Shakespeare’s plays. She made her screen debut in 1999, doing a guest role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; her first semi-regular television role was in 2002’s Haunted. On the big screen, she first appeared in romantic comedies such as Down with Love, 50 First Dates and 13 Going on 30, before returning to Shakespeare’s territory with the film The Merchant of Venice, which earned her critical attention.
Collins’ other film credits include The Lake House, The Number 23, Nothing in Private and Uncertainty. She also appeared in the first few episodes of the HBO miniseries True Blood as Dawn Green. Most recently, she was cast in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Angels Crest, Ten Year and John Carter of Mars.
