American actress Leslie Mann was born on March 26, 1972 in San Francisco, California. When she was 17 years old, she began acting in numerous commercials. She appeared in 1991’s Virgin High as the ‘Squiggle’ Girl and in an episode of Birdland. In 1996, she beat out hundreds of other hopefuls for her role as Robin Harris in the thriller comedy, The Cable Guy. Her co-star Jim Carrey described her looks as bearing a resemblance to those of movie star Marlene Dietrich.
That same year, Leslie Mann was given a role in the romantic comedy She’s the One and played Wanda in Last Man Standing. This was followed by a role as Laurie in Cosas que nunca te dije, translated as Things I Never Told You, a drama by Isabel Coixet. In 1997, she starred with Brendan Fraser in the comedy George of the Jungle. In the movie, she played Ursula Stanhope, the lead female who George falls for and tries to rescue.
She played alongside Adam Sandler in Big Daddy with the role of Corinne Maloney. Leslie Mann also appeared in the TV series Freaks and Geeks in 2000, on the episode “Chokin’ and Tokin’.” She was cast as Cherine in Timecode and as Camille in 2001’s Perfume. In 2002, she portrayed the character Krista in Orange County, starring Colin Hanks and Jack Black. That same year, she was given a part in Stealing Harvard. In 2005, Leslie Mann portrayed Nicky in the comedy The 40 Year Old Virgin, which starred Steve Carell. The film was directed by her husband Judd Apatow. The two met on the set of The Cable Guy, which he also directed.
In 2007, Leslie Mann starred in Knocked Up as Debbie, with Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl. She also appeared in Steven Brill’s comedy Drillbit Taylor in 2008.
