Khandi Alexander first became famous in the world of TV forensics as Dr. Alexx Woods on CSI: Miami before landing a spot on the HBO series Treme, where she currently plays tavern owner LaDonna Batiste-Williams. Alexander, who studied at Queensborough Community College and appeared in Broadway productions of Chicago, Bob Fosse's Dancin and Dreamgirls, also captivated viewers for three years as Catherine Duke on NewsRadio.
In 1995, Alexander joined the cast of ER as Jackie Robbins, a character she played until 2001. Simultaneously, she appeared in movies like Dark Blue, Emmett's Mark, There's Something About Mary, Thick as Thieves and What's Love Got to Do with It, just to name a few.
