Biography

American actor Josh Duhamel was born on November 14, 1972 in Minot, North Dakota. He is a graduate of Minot State University, intending to enter dental school by earning a biology degree. He had a modeling career before acting, at one point earning Male Model of the Year honors in an IMTA modeling competition in 1997. He shot into popularity when he first appeared in the ABC daytime soap All My Children in 1999. Duhamel played the role of Leo du Pres, the charming schemer. During his three-year run in the soap, he won a Daytime Emmy award for Best Supporting Actor in 2002.

After a guest stint on Ed, Josh Duhamel made his film debut in the 2004 horror film The Picture of Dorian Gray. In 2003, Duhamel took on his second regular television role, as part of Las Vegas. He played the role of Danny McCoy, initially the apprentice and surrogate son of Ed Deline, (James Caan) who later Head of Security, and later Head of Operations, of the fictional Montecito Resort. He played the role throughout the program’s five-season run.

While appearing on Las Vegas, Duhamel appeared on the romantic comedy Win A Date with Tad Hamilton!, the horror film Turistas in 2006, and the comic book adaptation of Transformers, playing Army Captain William Lennox, who survives Blackout’s attack in a military base in Qatar. Some of Duhamel’s other appearances include roles in music videos. He was in the videos for Donna Summer’s “I Will Go With You (Con te partir?)” and in Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” in 1999. Duhamel has also been cast in the comedy When in Rome, playing Nick Beamon alongside Kristen Bell, Danny DeVito and Jon Heder. He has also signed on to reprise his role in the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
