Jonathan's Season in Review *NEW*
Interview with Jonathan Jonathan Waud is an English-born family man who constantly has to juggle his hectic work schedule and his loved ones. Born and raised in Southampton, England, he has moved to the US and has been living in Los Angeles for three years. This French and International Business graduate from the University of the West of England loves traveling and experiencing new places and cultures, having lived in the south of France and Monaco at one point of his life.
Jonathan decided to try his luck by going on the hit Bravo reality series Make Me A Supermodel. There, he became one of 16 contestants to compete for $100,000 and a contract with New York Model Management. Joining the aspiring models is show host Tyson Beckford, who plays mentor along with Nicole Trunfio. Helping out the group is this season’s panel of esteemed judges, including world-renowned designer Catherine Malandrino, model Jenny Shimizu, celebrated photographer Perou and international model scout Marlon.
Jonathan Waud excelled throughout his time on Make Me A Supermodel, establishing himself as an early front runner. Throughout the season, Jonathan has racked up three wins and was the first model to book a go-see. Jonathan booked an ad campaign for designer underwear line 2(x)ist. Jonathan has only found himself in the bottom three once during the entire competition, and was a high scorer (top two or three) five times.
Jonathan excelled during the season's photo shoots, bringing innovation and unique poses to each photo shoot. Photographers loved working with Jonathan and complimented his "outside of the box" poses and constant professionalism. Throughout the season, the judges lauded Jonathan for his Adonis like body and his commercial appeal. One guest judge went so far as to say that Jonathan had "a million dollar face" and that when he looked at Jonathan he "saw money, lots and lots of money."
While Jonathan excelled during the photo shoots, he struggled during the catwalk challenges and with family issues during the filming of the show. A devoted husband and father to son Jude, Jonathan was distressed when his wife called saying the family was running out of money and would not be able to pay their rent if Jonathan did not come home soon or come home a winner. This disturbing call from home left Jonathan worried that he was letting his family and son down, and seems to have distracted him from the competition.
Based on his consistently strong photo shoots and his million dollar face and body, Jonathan Waud was named one of the three models to compete in the finale of Make Me A Supermodel. He placed third in the competition, but his exposure propelled his career. He even became part of the NoH8 campaign.
