Working in the fashion industry for the past 18 years, Joe Faris joined Project Runway to continue the progress in his career. Upon graduating from Parsons School of Design, Joe was hired by Bugle Boy. Joe has worked for Ralph Lauren and Pelle Pelle, and lists Giorgio Armani, Yves Lauren and Betsey Johnson as his preferred designers.
Joe considers himself a sportswear designer, and believes that a fashion must is a basic black shirt. He owns two boutique jean and leather lines, taking him to the cities of New York and Detroit. Though he came from a rich background in fashion, he considers his wife and daughters, Keely and Maia, as his inspiration.
On the show, he was eliminated on episode 10 despite winning one challenge. Since his departure, he returned to his post at Schott NYC and has worked on another collection for them.
