Jesse Plemons began his acting career in 1998, making his debut in the film Finding North. His early film credits include stints in Varsity Blues, Like Mike, and When Zachary Beaver Came To Town; he also has guest roles in Walker, Texas Ranger, The Guardian and Grey's Anatomy.
Plemons' big break came in 2006, when he was cast in the NBC series Friday Night Lights. His character, Landry Clarke, wasn't initially member of the football team, although ironically he has played high school football before. He left the show as a regular in 2010, when his character graduated, but he made several guest appearances in the show's final season.
Plemons earned his high school diploma from Texas Tech University's distance learning program.
