Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Jennifer Diederich aspired to be a fashion designer at a young age. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and subsequently moved to Italy to pursue her dream. To join Project Runway, she traveled from there, all for the sake of her fledgling clothing line called “Suite.” Her third time to audition, Jennifer seems determined to win.
While in Italy, Jennifer Diederich worked as an embroidery designer for Blumarine, the top European design house. In addition to her favorite designers, Schiaparelli, Moshino and Cynthia Rowley, she draws inspiration from color, art and Audrey Hepburn. Jennifer says that her theory for designing is Holly Golightly attending an exhibit of surrealist painter Salvador Dali.
She became known for being a contestant on Project Runway season 5, where she was eliminated on the fifth episode. Since leaving the show, she has worked in Italy and continued to develop her own label.
