Born on April 16, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois, actor Hayes MacArthur is also credited as a writer and comedian. He studied at Deerfield Academy and later pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at Brunswick, Maine's Bowdoin College. There, he rose to fame as a prolific quarterback of the Polar Bears, making history as he holds several records in the school.

Upon deciding to become an actor, he trained at the Groundlings Theater Company and the Atlantic Theater Company. This led him to appear on a number of comedy sketch shows, in addition to being awarded first place at the 2003 Rebels of Comedy Competition.

Hayes MacArthur is also known for co-writing, producing and starring in The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and His Little Friend. It was a 16-minute short film he created with Jason Winer in 2005, and was produced as a TV pilot the next year. He has also been seen on several television shows, including Pushing Daisies, How I Met Your Mother, Worst Week, and Medium. MacArthur even became part of Mad TV for a time, in addition to Comedy Central's Premium Blend.

As for his work on the big screen, Hayes was once cast with then-fiance Ali Larter in National Lampoon's Homo Erectus. This was followed by a part in the Disney movie The Game Plan, and later in 2010's She's Out of My League. Soon, it was announced that he became a regular cast member for NBC's short-lived comedy Perfect Couples.
