Television host Genevieve Gorder was born on July 26, 1974 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also an interior decorator and actress. She was educated at Minneapolis South High School, where she played soccer and violin. She then attended Lewis & Clark College and majored in international affairs, until she took a design course and changed her plans. She became an intern at MTV in 1994 and worked there as commentator for Sex in the 90's. She soon graduated with a degree in design from the School of Visual Arts in Manahattan.
Soon, Genevieve Gorder became a decorator for TLC's Trading Spaces. She also worked for Duffy & Partners in New York, and later booked her own show called Town Haul. In 2009, she debuted her own HGTV series called Dear Genevieve and soon became one of the judges on the show Design Star.
