British actress Felicity Jones was born in 1984 and is a graduate of Wadham College, Oxford. While there, she performed in several student plays one of them being Attis, in which she played the title role. In 2005, she was cast in Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors for the OUDS summer tour in Japan.
Felicity Jones became well-known to audiences for playing the school bully Ethel Hallow in the series The Worst Witch, as well as its spin-off, Weirdsister College. She was replaced by Katie Allen after the first season of The Worst Witch but reprised her role in 2001 for Weirdsister College. Jones is the voice of Emma on the long-running BBC Radio show, The Archers. In 2003, she landed a role in the series Servants, playing the character Gracie May. She later took on the leading role of Catherine Morland in the 2007 ITV adaptation of Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey. That year, she made her stage debut at the Royal Court Theatre, appearing on Polly Stenham’s That Face in the month of April. Jones later joined the cast of the series Meadowlands, taking on the role of the tough and independent Zoe Brogan. In 2008, Jones appeared in the films Brideshead Revisited and Flashbacks of a Fool. Her co-stars include Matthew Goode, Thomas Morrison, Anna Madeley, Daniel Craig, Harry Eden and Eve. Felicity Jones was also cast in the Doctor Who episode titled “The Unicorn and the Wasp.” She made an appearance in the five-part BBC One miniseries The Diary of Anne Frank as well. She decided to expand her stage work by accepting a role in a revival of Enid Bagnold’s The Chalk Garden, which will be performed at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre in London. She signed on to work on the film Cheri, acting alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates, and Rupert Friend.
