Ellis Hollins began his career as a British child actor. Born in 2000, he has acquired many dramatic storylines in his role as Tom Cunningham in the British Channel 4 soap opera, Hollyoaks. He became famous with his performance, which involved the death of Tom’s parents and his brother and starting a fire with matches. His character is that of an only child that his late parents Gordon and Helen had with each other, despite them both already having six grown children from other partners. He lived with his half-sister Mandy after their parents died in a car crash, though later he lived with his half-brother Max. He has also experienced earning money from modeling, but has also had to contend with Max’s evil and manipulative wife Clare.
Hollins became a fan favorite due to his role, and was nominated for a British Soap Award numerous times. In the category Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress, he has been recognized in the consecutive years of 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2006, he eventually won the award and beat out other actors. He was accompanied by his onscreen siblings Matt Littler and Sarah Jayne Dunn when he picked up his award.
Other accolades that the actor received include Best Young Actor at the Inside Soap Awards in 2005, 2006 and 2008. He also won Best Child Actor at the inaugural Digital Spy Soap Awards in 2008. Ellis Hollins has also appeared in an episode of the talk show This Morning With Richard and Judy, and was seen on Big Brother’s Little Brother.
In 2006, Hollins landed a role in the drama Alpha Male, a family film that aired in the United Kingdom. This enabled the actor to gain experience from co-stars Patrick Baladi, Arthur Duncan, Christopher Egan, Jennnifer Ehle, Stirling Gallacher and Mark Heap.
