From Mountain View, Arkansas comes Dusty. He studied sculpture and Art Education from Arkansas State University, graduating in 2001. He soon received his Masters degree in sculpture from Michigan State, in addition to traveling abroad to explore more forms of art. He has since taken on a job teaching art a public elementary school and even college courses at night. A dedicated professor, he has also shown his passion for art through his work. He has had several installations exhibited, seen in spaces such as the Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, AL, and the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock. He also had his first solo exhibition in 2003, showcasing his body of work at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids, MI.
Dusty soon decided to become one of the contestants on Bravo’s reality competition, Work of Art. He even dedicated his participation to his daughter, Cora. In the second season, these up-and-coming artists compete for a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and a cash prize of $100,000. A diverse panel of judges will offer their criticisms of the works, until only one remains as the winner.
