American movie and television actor Donald Faison was born on June 22, 1974 in New York City, New York. He is best friends with his Scrubs co-star Zach Braff, who became his roommate. He has also worked as a lifeguard before becoming an actor.
Donald Faison’s first role was a small one in the 1992 thriller Juice. He was next cast in 1994’s Sugar Hill, but became famous for playing Murray Lawrence Duvall in Clueless. He reprised this role in the subsequent television series, which ran from 1996 to 1999. He began to have supporting roles on a number of television series. He was in New York Undercover, as well as portraying Dashiell on four episodes of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. In 1998, he was in the series Sister, Sister and the films Butler and Can’t Hardly Wait. He was also cast alongside Loretta DeVine in Waiting to Exhale. In 2000, he landed a recurring role in the series Felicity. He gained popularity as the ambitious Petey in Remember the Titans.
The next year, he was cast as the devout Christian Dr. Christopher Turk in the NBC sitcom Scrubs, which earned him more fame. He co-stars with his close friend Zach Braff, who was his co-producer in an episode of MTV’s Punk’d. In 2002, Faison was cast in the comedy Big Fat Liar with Amanda Bynes and Frankie Muniz, as well as providing the voice for a character in MTV’s Clone High. He had roles in other films like Uptown Girls and King’s Ransom, while lending his voice to the movie Good Boy! and in the children’s series Higglytown Heroes. He also appeared on Saturday Night Live, and has voiced several characters on Seth Green’s stop motion-animated series Robot Chicken. He was in other films like Something New in 2006, Homie Spumoni, and Venus & Vegas in 2007.
