Biography

Born on September 7, 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Devon Edward Sawa is a Saturn Award-winning Canadian actor. He began acting in a school play during his kindergarten years, and began to land several roles on television and movies.

Devon Sawa first began his career as a spokesperson for a children’s action toy. In 1992, he starred in the Canadian TV show KidZone, which lasted for one season. He next appeared on three episodes of another Canadian show, The Odyssey. The show also featured his Now and Then co-star Ashleigh Aston Moore. In 1995, Sawa received his big break playing Casper as a real boy in Casper. He was also given the role of Junior Floyd in Little Giants, while he was filming Casper. His next film, Now and Then, reunited him with his Casper co-star, Christina Ricci. He also appeared in other TV movies like Night of the Twisters in 1996 and played the title character in Robin of Locksley. In 1999, he became known for his portrayal of the character Anton Tobias in Idle Hands. He was also seen in Wild America and SLC Punk!

In 2000, Devon Sawa was given a role in the thriller Final Destination, which became a box-office hit. He played the lead character Alex Chance Browning, who has visions of his friends’ deaths. He next appeared in The Guilty, before being featured opposite Dido in an Eminem music video. Sawa played Stan, the obsessed Eminem fan for the video “Stan” from the Marshall Mathers LP. His other films include Slackers alongside Jaime King and Jason Schwartzman, and the action adventure film Extreme Ops. He also voiced a character in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series. In 2004, he was cast in Extreme Dating and in 2006, he was given a role in Devil’s Den.
