Actor David Hornsby was born in Houston, Texas and got his acting training at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He started his career with small roles, appearing in an episode of ER and as a flyer on 2001’s Pearl Harbor. He then worked on the short film Born Loser, before playing a Spanish soap star in the TV movie Area 52.
David Hornsby is also a writer, known for his work on the FX comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. On that series, he has appeared as the priest Matthew Mara AKA Rickety Cricket. Other TV credits of his include those in The Joe Schmo Show and The Mullets. In 2003, he was cast as Patrick in the HBO series Six Feet Under. He was then seen on Threshold and Jake in Progress, in addition to his voice work on Fanboy and Chum Chum. On the big screen, he starred alongside Billy Crudup, Paul Giamatti, and Kristen Wiig on the indie film Pretty Bird. He was also on Minority Report and AVPR: Aliens vs Predator – Requiem. He has also been credited as the creator of the podcast Yoda and Me, and has once again written and starred on the CBS series How to Be a Gentleman in 2011. Also that year, he and his wife, actress Emily Deschanel, had their first child.
