Cody Lambert is featured as the bull handler and assistant instructor of the CMT network’s reality television series Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge. He is a former professional saddle bronco and bull rider who was born on December 2, 1961. After his friend Lane Frost died during the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 30, 1989, Lambert pushed forward with the development and production of a protective armor vest for all bull riders. Among his other frequent peers and partners in the rodeo business who rode alongside him were Frost, Ty Murray, Tuff Hederman, and Jim Sharp.
Lambert has been inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame for his competitive rodeo accomplishments. After the end of the 1996 PBR World Finals, he chose to retire from bull riding and focused on managing his ranch lands instead, and currently resides in Merkel, Texas. He is presently the Livestock Director and Vice-President of the PBR, and also serves as judge during its Built Ford Tough Series events. Lambert also occasionally supplies some color commentary for PBR events featured on the Versus cable network channel.
