Born on April 29 1968 in Los Angeles, California, singer and TV hostess Carnie Wilson is the daughter of 60s icon Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and Marilyn Rovell. She is the co-founder of the vocal group Wilson Phillips, which she formed with her younger sister and childhood friend. They were teens when they released two albums, and later worked on their Christmas album in 1993. The sisters later joined their father in the 1997 album The Wilsons, but this was not met with much success.
Carnie Wilson also had an acting career, hosting her own talk show Carnie! from 1995 to 1996. Other papearenaces of hers include those in That 70s Show and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Soon she decided to start a solo music career. She came up with the album For the First Time in 2003. It failed to attract attention, so she regrouped with her band Wilson Phillips. They released the album called California in 2006. That same year, she joined the cast of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club. She has since launched two more solo albums. The first is called A Mother's Gift: Lullabies from the Heart, for her daughter Lola, and the second is Christmas with Carnie. She also tried her hand at hosting. She became a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and a host of GSN's The Newlywed Game. In 2010, she starred in her own reality show called Carnie Wilson: Unstapled.
