Angela Ruggiero received the nickname "The Olympian" during her time on The Apprentice. The three-time Olympic Ice Hockey Player grew up in Los Angeles as well as Harper Woods, MI. She attended Harvard University where she graduated cum laude with a degree in government, and was also an NCAA First Team Academic All-American and one of the top eight student athletes in the entire NCAA at the time. She was a star player on the U.S. Olympic Ice Hockey Team where she won a Gold medal in 1998, a Silver in 2002, and a Bronze in 2006. She was the first woman non-goalie to play in professional men's hockey and earned a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame for the first brother-sister duo to play pro hockey together. She was voted USA's Woman's Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004, and in 2003 was ranked #1 female hockey player in the world by "The Hockey News". She then became the founder and president of a girl's hockey school, an author, and the director of the New York Islanders' Project Hope that helps young Chinese athletes with access to educational opportunities.
As a contestant on The Apprentice Season 6, she claimed that "I should be the next Apprentice because I achieved success on a world platform as a result of my strong work ethic, determination and commitment - the same traits needed to success in business." During the tenth episode of the show, she became a project manager and was subsequently fired. She wasn't able to defend herself when she was accused of poor leadership. Even so, Donald Trump offered her a job after her stint on the competition. Since then, she has enrolled at the University of Minnesota, where she pursued a degree in sports management.
