Alana De La Garza studied physical therapy and social work at The University of Texas but soon found herself embarking on a different field. Upon moving to New York, she landed a minor role on All My Children but later acquired more offers on TV. She appeared on JAG, Las Vegas, Two and a Half Men and The Mountain, where she played Maria Serrano for 13 episodes. Additionally, she landed the role of Jessie Gilmore on The Book of Daniel, as well as Marisol Delko on CSI: Miami. Her biggest break came, however, in 2006 as she was cast as A.D.A. Connie Rubirosa on Law and Order. She played the said character until 2010 and then again in 2011 on the spin-off series Law & Order: Los Angeles.
