Jamie Lynn Spears as Zoey Fans of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 will receive a special treat when the new year rolls in.

On Friday, January 4, at 8pm, the one-hour original television movie, Goodbye Zoey, will premiere, with Zoey, played by Jamie Lynn Spears, receiving some life-changing news.  In a pivotal plot for Zoey 101, the show's teen heroine finds herself wrestling with whether to relocate to London with her parents, or remain on the sandy shores with her friends at Pacific Coast Academy.

"Friendships are put to the test in this exciting TV movie, where the kids face the real-life challenges of making tough decisions and moving to new places," Marjorie Cohn, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming of Nickelodeon, said.  "We think the surprise ending will leave viewers riveted and looking forward to the new season of the show."

Suddenly confronted with a difficult decision, Zoey quickly turns to her friends Lola (Victoria Justice), Quinn (Erin Sanders), Logan (Matthew Underwood) and Michael (Christopher Massey), who are all ready to do anything to keep her from going to England with her parents.  However, she doesn't immediately tell Chase (Sean Flynn), her long-time best guy pal, wanting to find the right moment to do so.

Chase, however, inadvertently finds out about Zoey's possible departure, and is upset that she waited to tell him.  He brushes her off, which leads Zoey to seriously consider leaving her life and friends at PCA.  Things get more complicated for Zoey when Chase inadvertently makes a shocking revelation.

Goodbye Zoey is from Zoey 101 executive producer/creator Dan Schneider and his production company, Schneider's Bakery, Inc.  Schneider is the man behind other Nickelodeon hits like Drake & Josh, iCArly, The Amanda Show, Kenan & Kel and All That.

Zoey 101 is a tween series that premiered in January 2005.  It quickly became a hit among the tween demo, and as of last month, was the top series on television among kids aged 9-14.
