The evening was interposed with premieres last night, with extreme game show Wipeout and Amazing Race rip-off Expedition Impossible facing off against So You Think You Can Dance.

ABC had both Wipeout and Expedition Impossible on its team last night, and walked away with the evening. Wipeout premiered with 7.47 million viewers, while Expedition Impossible entered its first season with 7.05 million viewers. Not bad for a couple of ridiculous summer outdoor game shows, eh?

Reeling from the shame of being outrated by the U.S. version of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, FOX's So You Think You Can Dance ended the night with 6.32 million viewers to its name. As the novelty of Wipeout's premiere wears off, SYTYCD might be able to gain some of its steam back.

On NBC, Love Bites just trudged along to its impending doom, down again from last week, with 1.99 million viewers.
