Kate French was born in Flamington, New Jersey, but she and her three siblings were raised in Long Island. French, who is educated at the University of California, is very acquainted with the world of fashion, because both of her parents were models and her stepfather is a fashion photographer. French initially pursued a modeling career, but she switched to acting later on. She appeared in the 2006 comedy film Accepted.
