Two shows are being given the boot this season as the Media Rights capital has paused production for two under-performing CW series, Easy Money
. These two shows will stop production for four to six weeks, MRC announced on Monday. They added that the hiatus is in fact pre-planned and that they are giving the show’s writers ample time to work and catch up on the shows’ writing schedules.
MRC’s spokesperson said that the company will push through with producing the 13 episodes of the Valentine
and Easy Money
orders. More importantly, the break will give MRC the chance to study the performance of both shows, which have been very week in its initial run.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
On Sunday, Valentine
averaged only a million viewers and 0.4 rating/1 share among adults 28-49 while the previously well-received Easy Money
garnered only 750,000 viewers and 0.3/1 in the 18-49 demographic, making the ratings drop by 25 percent from the premiere.
Created by Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, Easy Money
is a dramedy which began airing early last month on the CW as part of its Sunday night block, which was sold to the MRC on a leased-time basis. Easy Money
stars Jeff Hephner as Morgan, Laurie Metcalf as his mother Bobette, Katie Lowes as Brandy Buffkin, Jay Ferguson as Cooper, Nick Searcy as Roy and Marsha Thomason as Julia.
, on the other hand, is a romantic comedy/drama series created by Kevin Murphy and began airing on the CW in October. The series follows a family of gods living amongst humans and stars Jaime Murray as Grace Valentine A.K.A. Aphrodite, Kristoffer Polaha as Danny, Autumn Reeser as Phoebe, Robert Baker as Leo and Christine Lakin as Kate.
Viewers who have been hooked on these shows keep their fingers crossed for the possible return of their favorite shows towards the end of the year.
