Not much is known about the Magister except for that he's the "adjudicator for every vampire territory in North America." But that fact alone is enough to bring him back for the third season of
True Blood, which kicks off with new episodes beginning June 13.
According to
TV Guide, Zeljko Ivanek (
Damages, Heroes) will be reprising his role as the Magister this season to get to the bottom of the illegal V trade in Louisiana--which will likely be a problem for Queen Sophie Ann, Pam and Eric.

If you recall last season, Pam ordered Lafayette to continue selling vampire blood at the request of Eric. It was also revealed that Eric is working with Queen Sophie-Ann, who's practically supplying the V and heading the illicit operation.
Will the Magister discover the truth? We won't know for sure until the third season of
True Blood but knowing what the Magister is capable of, it looks like Queen Sophie-Ann, Eric and Pam will all have to watch their backs.
True Blood Season 3 SpoilersIn the first season, the Magister ordered a Tribunal's enforcer to rip out the fangs of a vampire charged with feeding on a human owned by another vampire. He also ordered Bill to make up for Longshadow's death by making a new vampire in the form Jessica.
