True Blood

True Blood: Previewing Episode 2.3 "Scratches"
There were a few interesting things on last week's True Blood, one of them being the fact that vampires actually cry blood.  Which looks painful, considering that Jessica's the one doing the crying.  But I think Sookie said something like "vampires are not supposed to cry" and then I realize it's because it could be easier for V-juice addicts to nab vampires and torture them.  Of course, I'm kidding.

And so we welcome ourselves to a full-on culture clash between oh-yeah-I-know-right teener Jessica, relative softie Sookie, and Civil War veteran Bill.  Okay, so it's not a culture clash, since the only thing I see different is the way they speak.  But what happened towards the end--when Jessica somehow decided to reunite with her human family before threatening her abusive dad, and all the drama that came after--just set up the fact that things will be very complicated, and not just because someone else joined the party.  Well, Jessica is still torn between her human impulses and her vampire impulses.  And Sookie can see one side.  And Bill can see the other (since it's been eons since he was human).  You get the idea.

But maybe that'll be slightly forgotten when another reality sets in: Eric is baaack, hair and all!  On tonight's True Blood, Bill and Eric decide to unite after some mysterious creature attacks Sookie.  (Half-sure clue: look back to the season premiere.)  It's just a back-burner treatment to family life, though, since Jessica decides to explore by herself.  Well, Jessica, welcome to Merlotte's, where people fall in love--or get fallen in love with.  Anyway, back to Sookie, and that Bill-Eric alliance will get her entangled in Lafayette's imprisonment.  Thus, those spoilers about--cover your eyes now!--that missing vampire in Dallas, right.  What else?

Oh, right, hello Jason.  I found your "are you related to the farm?" line funny in a genuine way.  This week, he started to think twice about his involvement in that leadership seminar with the fellowship--must be weird being surrounded by a fake vampire, a fake Taylor Swift and a "fake" football player.  Maybe you should think twice about what you're doing, because you're being blissfully ignorant that you're making enemies?  Or am I missing something?  You can see the look in his eyes--in between glimpses of the past season--and you wonder if he's intending everything.

Sounds confusing?  I apologize for my writing.  All that, plus Sam being Sam and a fog that turns on Tara's sexy-time switch, on tonight's True Blood, from 9pm on HBO.
