The Young and the Restless: November 16 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless: November 16 Live Thoughts
Another week comes to a close on The Young and the Restless.  Nick (Joshua Morrow) brings the pillow that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) made in prison to the hospital for Victoria (Amelia Heinle).  He finds out the bad news that Vic's blood pressure isn't going down at all and they might have to do an emergency C-section.  Nikki's (Melody Scott Thomas) hair is still as awful as ever.

David Chow (Vincent Irizarry) makes small talk with Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Karen (Nia Peeples) at Newman before heading out to the hospital.  Neil mopes that this is the first Thanksgiving that the Winters family will be celebrating with Drusilla.

Kevin (Greg Rikaart) continues to berate Gloria (Judith Chapman) about her plan to take down Jeffrey Bardwell (Ted Shackelford).

Nikki wants them all to pray for a miracle.  Dr. Webb comes back to tell them that a urinalysis has shown that she has elevated levels of protein in her urine, which might be a sign of kidney failure.  Also, they have confirmed that she has preeclampsia, so the doctor urges them to make a decision as soon as possible.  Nikki tells him to continue to treat the hypertension and not do a C-section yet.

Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton McClure) tell Neil that they want to have Thanksgiving dinner at home with him, and they all decide to start a new family tradition.  But tonight, they are eating dinner in the Newman conference room.  David comes in, demanding to know why Newman Enterprises is calling in Nikki's loan.  They argue about it.  Neil is a little bit of a badass when he's talking about paperwork and such.  He goes back to dinner with Lily and Devon and tells them that he's going to invite Karen to their Thanksgiving dinner.

Kevin and Gloria are still arguing about Jeffrey.  Gloria remembers that Jeff has a Masters in Asian Studies, and she develops a plan using that bit of information.

Nikki and Victor (Eric Braeden) discuss Victoria's condition tearfully.  Victor reassures her that they don't have to make any decisions right yet.  David comes in and asks how Victoria's doing.  Victor tells David to go away because now is not the time to be taking care of business matters, which only serves to annoy David.  Nikki and David go to the cafeteria to finish their paperwork.

Neil asks Karen to have Thanksgiving dinner with his family, but she's hesitant.  Neil convinces her that his kids are totally cool with her now, and she accepts the invitation gladly.

Gloria digs out a reproduction of an old Japanese necklace-type thing that she wears around her neck.  She's going to use this to get into Jeffrey's pants.  She goes over to Jeffrey's and prattles on about her Japanese Edo period doodad.

Karen runs into Lily and thanks her for inviting her over for Thanksgiving.  Karen is trying really hard to be nice to Lily and offers to bring her favorite Filipino dish: chicken adobo.  She also offers to make green bean casserole, but Lily says that she's using all of Drusilla's recipes, so she's got it covered.  Awkward.

Nikki signs the paperwork with David.  After they are done, he gives her gifts: lavender scent for her and sweet orange for Victoria.  He touches her cheek tenderly and they hug.  Nick sees all of this from across the room with a suspicious look in his eye.  He's probably the last person on The Young and the Restless to learn that something is going on with Nikki and David.

JT (Thad Luckinbill) and Victor are by Victoria's side when her blood pressure monitor starts to go off again.

Gloria continues to seduce Jeffrey, but then leaves after a heated kiss, leaving her compact behind so that she has an excuse to come back again.

Lily complains to Devon that Karen is trying too hard to be liked and accepted by them, and it's annoying her.  Lily is being a real brat today.  Even Devon has gotten over it and is starting to like Karen.  Naturally, Karen overhears all of this, so she decides that she might be better off going home for Thanksgiving after all.  The only thing is, her family is going to the Caribbean, so she'll have nobody to go home to.  Looks like her only choice is to spend the best holiday of the year with Neil's bratty daughter who doesn't like her.

The doctor tells Victor and JT that they must begin the C-section, but Nikki knows in her heart that Victoria would want to save the baby, even if it means giving up her own life, so she is dead against the idea.  Nick also asks Nikki what the deal is between her and David Chow, but she denies that anything is going on.

Neil tells David that he's decided to put Nikki's loan on hold indefinitely.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Brad wants his voice to be heard in deciding Victoria's fate, Phyllis and Jana talk in prison, hopefully we'll find out what they're going to do with Victoria and her baby.
