Lance Reddick was born in Baltimore, Maryland. The African-American thespian originally aspired to be a musician. He studied at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where he majored in classical composition. For a while, he tried in earnest to make it as a pop musician, supporting himself and his family on part-time jobs. A serious back injury made him reassess his goals, and he decided to become an actor instead. His television stints include Law and Order, The West Wing, and Oz. Lance is now best known for his role in HBO's television drama, The Wire.
Cedric Daniels is a Baltimore police lieutenant, who is known around the department as a great worker. He was set to be promoted as major because of his reputation. His fast ascent to the higher tanks was delayed, however, by some difficulties he encountered in the Barksdale drug case. This destroyed his relationship with his wife Marla, a politically ambitious woman who wanted to run for the city council.
