The Walking Dead returns in October with a six to seven month time jump to find the prison residents living in a almost home-like situation. Despite their new upgraded surroundings, they will continue to deal with threats constantly.
In this new extended sneak peek of The Walking Dead
season 4 originally published by TVLine
, the executive producers and cast discuss what fans can expect this season and a new threat to come to the prison.
"A Look at Season 4: The Walking Dead"
The prison is no longer a safe zone for its residents. Walkers have gotten more aggressive. They surround the prison and through the force of number are destabilizing the fence. Though it's a "more stable place." with "a sense of normalcy ... possibly," it's still a "a very dangerous place."
With the new Woodbury residents living at the prison, Carl isn't the only young person around. (Can you call him a "kid" with all that he's been through?) And, they even hold story time and Carol provides a lesson on using knives.
Safety at prison begins to fall part due to a new threat. It's unclear what this threat is, but "it's not really walkers and it's not other people." And, you "can't really put your finger on where it's coming from." but "it's from inside."
The characters will be pushed to their breaking point. Rick will struggle with his identity as a cop and as a father. And, 12 people die.
Will the danger within the prison be so severe that they will have to leave this new home behind? With walkers all around the prison and so many residents, a move would be risky, but perhaps the best option.
What do you think about this new threat? Will it decimate the prison community?
The Walking Dead season 4 premieres Sunday, October 13 at 9 pm ET on AMC.
