The 10 Best Blind Auditions of 'The Voice' Season 12

Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have each chosen the 48 artists who will continue to compete in season 12 of The Voice. The Blind Auditions bring all kinds of interesting talent, which emerges from the least likely seeming faces. The first thing we learn about the artists is if they can handle the pressure without choking or passing out. If they can do that, they are halfway home.

Once chairs turn and artists are fought over -- fought entertainingly over -- that's when the real work begins. That's what I'm looking forward to this season. How will these 48 drive themselves to become more than they ever thought possible with the help of their coaches and advisers. Here's my list of the Top 10 Blind Auditions for The Voice season 12. See if you agree.

#10 Hanna Eyre

Hometown: Laguna Niguel, CA
Song: "Blank Space"
Team Adam

Hanna came in like a lamb with this Taylor Swift hit and got stronger with every bar. I didn't expect to like her performance as much as I did, but she grew on me until I had to admit that she brings something extraordinary to this season: an innocence and strength that many of the younger artists don't yet possess.

#9 Valerie Ponzio

Hometown: El Paso, TX
Song: "Ring of Fire"
Team Blake

Valerie imbues her music with a level of intimacy that would make a lot of artists uncomfortable ... and that's what makes her a delight to listen to. Her country style and drawl give Loretta Lynn a run for her money. It will be interesting to see the songs Blake gives Valerie to compete with.

#8 Enid Ortiz

Hometown: Tampa, FL
Song: "All I Ask"
Team Blake

This gorgeous woman took a risk singing one of the most popular songs by one of the most popular artists of the decade, and she did it with her whole heart and soul. Her voice is breathtakingly lovely. It was actually painful and confusing as hell when none of the coaches hit their buzzers, and for a moment I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. Enid is easily one of the top three artists of the season.

#7 Johnny Gates

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Song: "Maggie May"
Team Gwen

Johnny's voice is rock-unique. He stands out from the other male singers of season 12 because of the combination of his affect, his tone and a song choice that allowed him to show both of these off. His style combines Rod Stewart, Gwen Stefani and Bonnie Raitt. How can that not be a winner?

#6 Kawan DeBose

Hometown: Miama, FL
Song: "Let's Get It On"
Team Adam

Kawan embodies the word 'smooth.' Provocative and sexy in his Sam Hunt t-shirt, Kawan hit the high notes and dipped us into the low while stealing hearts all around. The only thing that might get him in trouble is his cockiness.

#5 Sheena Brook

Hometown: Fort Myers Beach, FL
Song: "Baby Girl"
Team Adam

Sheena's performance was clear and effortless. After a string of mediocre artists, Sheena's clarity and vibrato were an exciting breath of fresh air and a case of the excited goosebumps.

#4 JChosen

Hometown: Albany, GA
Song: "Sexual Healing"
Team Gwen

This special needs teacher's performance was so alluring that he made Alicia blush five shades of chocolate and hide behind Gwen Stefani's chair. His ability to dig down deep and then fly high within three notes was mind-blowing. Despite his chemistry with Alicia, Gwen was able to lure him to her team based on the breadth of her experience working alongside both sexes in the world of music.

#3 Lauren Duski

Hometown: Northern Michigan
Song: "You Were Meant for Me"
Team Blake

Lauren is a pure nightingale. Her interpretation and delivery of "You Were Meant for Me" were angelic in their fluidity and range, and supremely human in their depth and emotion.

#2 TSoul

Hometown: Richmond, VA
Song: "Take Me to the River"
Team Blake

Wow. This man's talent has the depth and breadth and dimension to revive an entire church of soul singers right down to the river for some soul cleansing. He delivered every beat without pretense or ego.

#1 Micah Tryba

Hometown: Wheaton, IL
Song: "I'm Every Woman"
Team Blake

From the moment Micah opened her mouth and delivered her first note, she sent goosebumps up and down my limbs. She seriously knocked this song out of the park with all three bases loaded. Micah gave her heart when she sang, making mine want to cry. Wow.
