As much as it hurt for some fans that The Originals
season 4 was being delayed to midseason it is working out rather nicely for The CW. With The Vampire Diaries
having said its final goodbyes, The Originals
will be swooping into its time slot to give fans their vampire fix. Still it's been a long wait for The Originals
season 4 and you don't have to wait until March 17 to get your first glimpse of the return of the Mikaelsons. The CW has released two preview clips of the season 4 premiere. Things do not look great for Klaus and crew but at least they're back on TV.
How Will The Vampire Diaries Series Finale Link to The Originals?>>>
The preview, which comes courtesy of TVLine
, is the first scene fans will see when they tune into the season 4 premiere. In the first minute of season 4, Vincent can be heard (and seen) giving a sermon to a congregation of witches that just so happens to catch the audience up as well. It's been five years since we last saw the Mikaelsons and as Vincent explains that is the case for pretty much everyone in New Orleans.
Vincent goes on about how the Mikaelsons were defeated in season 3 and the big "price" that had to be paid AKA the deaths of Cami and Davina. Vincent also confirms that Marcel is the head vampire in charge in the absence of Klaus but he also warns his audience that the freedom they won is about to be challenged. I think it's safe to say that challenge is going to involve a very bloody and action-packed reclamation of his throne by Klaus.
Yet it might be a little while until we see Klaus break free on The Originals
. In the other sneak peek coming directly from The CW's YouTube page Klaus is very much still Marcel's prisoner. The preview is very short but it is clear there is no love lost between the former partners and now enemies. Klaus asks if Marcel has arrived to taunt him again but Marcel tells the original vampire that isn't the case. Marcel wants to have a "civilized conversation" with Klaus, something that is long overdue.

While this might be true, it wouldn't be smart to count on Marcel and Klaus staying civilized for long. Klaus is ready to break free of those chains and reap the vengeance that Marcel may or may not deserve for defeating Klaus.
Who do you want to see triumph in the eventual battle between Klaus and Marcel? Do you think the two will ever be at peace again? Does Klaus deserve the treatment he is getting at Marcel's hands?
